- Account Information: When you sign in via Google or Email, we collect your name and email address to create and secure your business profile.
- Business Data: All data you enter into the App, including products, stock levels, sales transactions, and receipts, is stored locally on your device.
- Device Permissions:
- Camera: Used solely for barcode scanning to add products or process sales.
- Bluetooth: Used to connect and print receipts to compatible thermal printers.
- Notifications: Used to alert you about low stock levels.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
- Manage your inventory and process sales transactions.
- Provide automated low-stock notifications.
- Enable receipt printing via Bluetooth.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Your business data, including products and sales, is stored in a secure local database (Room) on your Android device.
- Cloud Backup: If you choose to use the "Backup to Drive" feature, a copy of your database is uploaded to a hidden folder in your own Google Drive, the "App Data" folder. We do not have access to your other Google Drive files, and we do not host your business data on our own servers.
4. Third-Party Services
Shop Assistant integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Play Services / Google Sign-In: For user authentication.
- Google Drive API: To facilitate your personal data backups.
- Firebase (Google): For app analytics and authentication services. These services may collect information as governed by their respective privacy policies.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local Data: You can delete your local data at any time by clearing the App's cache/data in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
- Account Deletion: You may request account deletion by contacting us through the support email listed in the App or app store listing.
- Backups: You can manage and delete your backups directly through your Google Account security settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Shop Assistant is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
